New findings at stonehenge8/15/2023 ![]() The new research suggests those ancient structures may perhaps have been raised to honor a sacred hunting ground. A few gigantic pine posts, possibly totem poles, were raised at Stonehenge between 8,500 and 10,000 years ago, but until now there was scant evidence of occupation in the area that long ago. New Findings Show That Stonehenge May Have Been an Ancient Time-Keeping System According to reports published by author and professor, Timothy Darvill. The findings of the review were published a day after Mr Turtle was installed as president of the Methodist Church in Ireland to serve a one-year term from 2023-24. Stone monoliths found buried near Stonehenge could have been part of the largest Neolithic monument built in Britain, archaeologists believe. Using an array of geophysical survey techniques including ground. The new discovery may also identify the people who first erected structures at Stonehenge. While we think of Stonehenge as a stone edifice thrusting up out of the earth, these new findings are below the earth’s surface. "We may have found the cradle of Stonehenge, the reason why it is where it is," Jacques wrote. That suggests the area near Stonehenge may have been an auroch migration route that became an ancient feasting site, drawing people together from across different cultures in the region, wrote lead researcher David Jacques of the Open University in the United Kingdeom, in an email. What's more, the site, which was occupied continuously for 3,000 years, had evidence of burning, thousands of flint tool fragments and bones of wild aurochs, a type of extinct giant cow. NovemContact - Phil Zimmerman (LOS ANGELES) - Each year over a million people from around the world travel to Wiltshire, England to see Stonehenge, the most recognizable prehistoric monument in Europe, and to experience its mystical majesty. The scientists behind that research said that the land there may have been occupied since 8820 B.C. ![]() A site near Stonehenge has revealed archaeological evidence that hunters lived just a mile from Stonehenge roughly 5,000 years prior to the construction of the first stones, new research suggests. Octoby Patricia Smith History Who Built Stonehenge A New Study Reveals It Was A Community Effort A new study has revealed that the ancient monument of Stonehenge was built by a community of people from all over Britain, and not just by a local tribe as was previously thought. Summary: A host of previously unknown archaeological monuments have been discovered around Stonehenge as part of an unprecedented digital mapping project that will transform our knowledge of this. LONDON A new archaeological discovery at the site of an ancient village near Stonehenge promises to offer significant clues about life more than 4,500 years ago in the Neolithic period, and. The new survey builds on findings from last October indicating that the area around Stonehenge is the oldest continually occupied region in Britain.

Seaside grill secrets los cabos8/15/2023 ![]() We tried to stay at the far end of the pool away from the swim up bar because it seemed a little more relaxing. We spent our days at the pool and the drink service was excellent, Elias and Abelardo were fantastic. All of the staff on the property speak enough english to help you with whatever you need. There are plenty of options $$ for getting into Cabo if you want. The resort is far from Cabo San Lucas which wasn't a problem for us because we were planning to stay at the resort for our entire trip anyway. The room was clean and it was probably the nicest room I've ever had in Mexico. I think that we should have at least been informed of this at check-in so we could plan for it. But, because of the COVID restrictions everything at the resort closed at 10pm which was unexpected and we were never informed of this. Our vacation was during newly reinstated COVID restrictions but we still had a great time and never felt as though our health was at risk. Define different types of moods8/15/2023 ![]() This bundle contains 5 ready-to-use mood worksheets that are perfect to test student knowledge and understanding of what mood is and how it can be used. As a duet, the mood becomes a feeling of shared and mutual love. The mood becomes especially powerful because the song is a duet, so the listener hears the exchange of feelings between two individuals. The mood used is one of love and affection. The text directly talks about love, but it also uses metaphors to evoke a sense of longing and loving. This song, written by Lionel Richie, gives the impression and feeling of love. Therefore, the mood in Poe’s work is madness and makes us feel uneasy.įrom “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie with Diana Ross: ![]() ![]() When someone repeats words, we associate it with madness. Poe uses his rhyme and his repetition of words to show a sense of paranoia and madness. To the rhyming and the chiming of the bells!” ![]() The following examples from literature use mood to evoke certain emotions and overall feelings: These are typical words to describe the mood of a particular piece of text: They evoke the emotion in us by talking about a topic in a specific way that makes us feel the emotion, even if we were not feeling that emotion previously. They often talk about their loved one or the feelings of despair from a lost love. What makes a great love song or a good rock song? Love songs usually make us think of our loved one, or they make us feel loved. We can also think of mood in terms of music with lyrics. This mood of mystery comes from lack of information the story gives us and the amount of questions that we need answered. For example, we usually say that detective stories have a suspenseful and mysterious mood. However, we generally associate feelings with particular genres of writing. It should be noted that authors and pieces of writing may try to evoke or contain a specific feeling or emotion, but all readers respond differently to text. In literature, mood helps the reader feel what characters are feeling and helps the reader place themselves, mentally and emotionally, into the setting of the story. We generally associate mood with the feeling that surrounds the piece of text or the feelings that surround the reader when examining a piece of text. The combination of elements can set the mood that is meant to be scary. This can come from eerie music in the background, or it can come from a creepy setting where the film takes place. Therefore, an author can use a tone that creates an atmosphere or feeling that the reader experiences.įor instance, if we watch a horror movie, the overall tone is one that is creepy, dark, and/or scary. Mood can be thought of as the result of atmosphere and tone combined to create a general feeling that surrounds the text and reader as they interact and work together. Usually atmosphere and tone work together to create an overall feeling within a piece of writing. We can think of atmosphere as the feeling that reader has when reading a text, while tone can be thought of as how the author feels toward their reader or subject. Some scholars may use the word tone in its place as well. Scholars sometimes use the word atmosphere in place of mood. Mood can be thought of as atmosphere or overall feeling of a piece of writing or literature. Download the Mood Examples and Worksheets. Internet spectrum speed test8/15/2023 ![]() This is often a result of network congestion. Jitter occurs when there is a variation in the time between when a signal is transmitted and when it is received over a network. This can often result in increased latency and slower network connection. Packet loss occurs when lost packets of data don’t reach their destination after being sent across a network. If you are not familiar with some of the terms that have been used throughout this page, use the glossary below to gain a more comprehensive look into your network connection. Finally, rerun our speed test with the new wired connection, and compare your results to the original WiFi speed test. Then connect a wired desktop or laptop directly to one of the wireless gateways’ Ethernet ports. First, while standing near your router, run our speed test on a mobile device or computer connected to your WiFi network. You can use our WiFi Speed Test to check your WiFi speed. Rain totals green bay8/15/2023 ![]() The lack of summer warming is reflected in a below average occurrence of very hot days (Figure 2c) and no overall trend in warm nights (Figure 2d). In 2012, a “killer frost” closely followed an abnormally warm March, resulting in significant damage to fruit crops. Warmer spring temperatures present the additional threat of frost-freeze damage to early-budding fruit trees. The hottest year was 2012, with a statewide average temperature of 47.4☏, which is 5☏ above the long-term average. The hottest 5-year period on record was 2000–2004. The state has borders along Lake Superior to the north and Lake Michigan to the east, and the proximity to the lakes provides a moderating effect on temperatures for locations along the shorelines. However, periodic intrusions of cooler air from Canada provide breaks from summer heat. The summer is characterized by frequent warm air masses, either hot and dry continental air masses from the arid west and southwest or warm and moist air from the south. The winter season is dominated by dry and cold air, with occasional intrusions of milder air from the west and south. The southern part of the state experiences cold winters and mild to hot summers, while the northern part of the state experiences frigid winters and generally cool summers with brief bouts of excessive heat. Wisconsin’s location in the interior of North America and the lack of mountains to the north and south expose the state to incursions of bitterly cold air masses from the Arctic in the winter and warm, humid air masses from the Gulf of Mexico in the summer, causing a large range of temperatures across the state.
